"I got it from my Mama"

In honor of Mother's day- I wanted to share the reason behind my crochet journey because it really started with my mom. There is no one in this world that inspires me to be better, stronger, or work harder than her. She’s the inspiration behind a lot of things in my life, and my cheerleader too!

Whenever I doubt myself, worry that I’m not good enough- she’s there telling me just how good I am. There’s something special about always having someone in your corner- believing in you, even if you don’t.

My mom is smart, caring, hardworking and strong as heck. She’s also creative, funny and a pretty talented crocheter. I’ve always looked up to my mom in many, many ways- and admiring her craftiness is just one of them. She taught herself to crochet and always made me such wonderful things- it made me want to learn. As a kid my favorite of her creations were my American Girl doll clothes. Of course, I tried when I was younger, it was harder than I thought and I wasn’t as skilled as my mom right away, so I quit.

Not forever though! So here I am, crocheting my days away and sharing my love for the craft and my creations with all of you! (I also have to say, her cheering me on and believing in me is the reason this blog finally got off the ground too!)

So in honor of Mother's Day- I want to share just how talented my mom is. She's always telling me how talented I am but I "got it from my mama" :)

A little pattern share from one of my favorite things my mom has made me. This scarf is gorgeous and her stitches are impeccable! My mom is super talented with fine yarn/thread- she's know for making gorgeous doilies- so it’s no surprise she made this beauty.

If you love it as much as I do- you can make your own with the pattern she used here.

Happy Mother's day to all you Mom's out there! And Happy Crocheting!
